1The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing.
2He makes me lie down in green pastures,
he leads me beside quiet waters,
3he refreshes my soul.
Has there ever been a time in your life where it seemed that everything was going wrong, and you just didn’t know what to do, you couldn’t think straight, and you just didn’t think you had any fight left in you? Well, I was having a time like that for a while. It seemed as if everything was going wrong, my health was on the decline, my dog had passed away before Christmas, and many other issues that were hitting me back to back like clockwork. That has been the reason for my absence when it came to blogging. In previous blogs I talk about listening to your body and being true with your feelings, well it was one of those times where I had to practice what I preached. I took some time to myself so that I could reset my mental clock. I started focusing more on the things that could heal me mentally such as meditating, reading my bible, hanging around/interacting with my family, and friends, fellowshipping in church and also reading more. Sometimes we can be so used to making sure that we do all we possibly can for others, but when we are hit with adversity we don’t know how to handle it because we have programmed our minds to just help others rather than ourselves. I’m not saying anything is wrong with helping others, but even on an airplane, they will tell you to put your own oxygen mask on before helping someone else, and essentially that’s what I had to do. I needed to put my oxygen mask on, and make sure I was breathing correctly before I could come up here and talk to you all. If you feel like this is something that you struggle please take some time for yourself, voice how you feel, even the strongest people become vulnerable at times. It is important to make sure that you don’t lose your identity. YOU MATTER! I thank you all for being patient with me while I took time away. Stay tuned for whats happening next. 2018 is going to bring great things for the healing-heart. Thank you for reading. May God bless you, and may your hearts be healed.
